The Ha-Ha Comma

I'm in NY. I feel washed away. Resworn in any available liquid. Three fantastic poetry readings in three days. Inspirational friends. Writing poems with JC. Talking aesthetics with JP. Finally hear Eugene Ostashevsky read live, you might have heard of him through the publication of one of his chapbooks with a certain excellent press. His reading was moving & bewildering in ways that make me remember that poetry advances the work of language. Heard the luscious folk sounds of Snowblink for the first time & met Daniella Gesundheit. And that is her real name. Astounded. Listened to fantastic poems from Susan Briante, John Coletti, Jane Gregory, Farid Matuk. Hung with Justin Marks & made lots of jokes. Most of them bad. All of which I laughed loudly at. Read at the Booklyn Poetry Fest. Saw old friends, new friends, read with Matvei Yankelevich, Anna Moschovakis, Fanny Howe, Christian Hawkey, Anselm Berrigan, Rod Smith. Was so very honored to be a part of the event. Astounded. Heard Gina Myers read from her wonderful, wonderful Behind the R sequence. Ordered the same meal twice from two veg restaurants. Pierogies with JC, Matthew & the Henriksens. Got my fingers out of the baby head. Took out the recycling. I will not remember anything. Ever. Ever. Ever again.
