The name of this song is "More Action!" The name of this song is "Less Tears!"
Denny made some beautiful posters for The Clean Part reading. May 13th at Tugboat. I think Dora Edwards & Joshua Edwards are going to be great. I've loved all the work I've seen of both of them. They both have unique takes on the lyric that challenges but retains immediacy. They may not be Billy-Collins accesible but they create their own accesses into their poems. great work and I'm tremendously excited to host them.
There is so much going on the next week or so. This Friday Tugboat has a group show at the Sheldon, then an opening at the Gallery of Charley Friedman's work. The real kicker is that will be a show of Kojo Griffin's work in the Emergency Room. !!!. !!!!. I'm a big fan of this guy's work. Very exciting.
Also Friday night The Visual will be at The Ross, a collection of fourteen short films and new media pieces. This is going to be a barnburner.
Had beers with my PoCoPo class last night. Continued thinking (somewhat incomprehensibly) outloud about how theory (be it PoCo, PoStruct or even EcoPo) can speak to form in poetry without reducing to essentialist notions of how form creates the work/meaning/event of the poem. Unless the form is either in or responding to a received form, in which a politics may be more immediate, it seems difficult to confront how theory can understand the role of form.
